NASCAR fans in Louisiana and worldwide enjoy following the racing escapades of superstar driver, Danica Patrick. Some of those fans might also be following a current legal battle between one of Patrick's sponsors, Nature's Bakery, and Stewart-Haas Racing. The latter claims the former has committed a material breach of contract.
Nature's Bakery sponsored Patrick throughout the 2016 racing season. Stewart-Haas says the company signed an agreement to continue sponsorship for several years. When Nature's Bakery reportedly announced it no longer wished to continue the business relationship, Stewart-Haas counteracted by filing a breach of contract lawsuit against the company. Stewart-Haas says it has fulfilled all of its obligations and responsibilities in its agreement with Nature's Bakery and has filed the lawsuit to make certain Nature's Bakery does the same.
The sponsor company has alleged Danica Patrick failed to be a good ambassador for its business. The claim filed by Stewart-Haas says Nature's Bakery informed Stewart-Haas Racing in mid-January it had no intention of keeping its agreement. In the meantime, Danica Patrick's firesuit for the upcoming 2017 season did not include advertisements for Nature's Bakery. Instead, it featured another company's brand which also sponsored her a few times last season.
It is not uncommon for contentious situations where one business accuses another of breach of contract to wind up in litigation. Any Louisiana businessperson currently facing such issues may seek guidance by contacting a business and commercial law attorney. Many times, aggressive litigation is the only means by which such problems can be resolved.
